Division of Orthopaedic Traumatology
This is a fully functional department with facilities for advanced trauma management, joint replacement arthroplasty, Arthroscopic surgery and limb salvage surgery.
The emergency unit consists of a receiving area, minor operation theatre and a 12-bed room with all monitoring facilities for polytrauma patients. The unit has a tertiary level trauma Center with all-critical care facilities. The ambulance is equipped with ventilator and monitoring facilities and has paramedical personnel trained in emergency management.
The joint replacement unit performs total and partial hip replacements, knee replacements and shoulder arthroplasty, on a regular basis. All the theaters have laminar air flow system.

He is the Sr. Consultant Orthopedic surgeon. He headed one of the oldest Trauma centers in the private sector in Kerala. He was also in charge of the joint replacement center. He was the past president of the Kerala Orthopedic Association and the Trauma Life Support Society of India.
Emergency & Traumatology
VPS Lakeshore Emergency & Traumatology department provide comprehensive emergency medical services & care 24X7. With established protocols for polytrauma, chest pain, stroke and others conditions, we provide all lifesaving procedures including resuscitation, airway protection, vascular support, cardiac support, cardiac pacing, and multidisciplinary support to the needy patients. Critically ill or injured patients with life-threatening conditions are immediately taken under the care of a critical care team of specialized doctors and the patient is evaluated, resuscitated and stabilized as per protocols. Round the clock availability of diagnostic services like; X-Ray, Ultrasound CT, MRI, Laboratory and Endoscopy, compliment the smooth operations of Emergency & Traumatology department. Dedicated minor procedure room for emergency procedures, trauma and surgical emergencies is also available. VPS Lakeshore ambulances are fully equipped mobile ICUs with advanced cardiac life support systems for the transfer of critically ill patients.
Main objectives are
- Life-threatening injuries are treated promptly and in accordance with established protocols, to maximize the likelihood of survival.
- Potentially disabling injuries are treated appropriately, so as to minimize functional impairment and to maximize the return to independence.
