Second batch EMT students graduated and employed


The second batch of Emergency Medical Technician students (EMTs) graduated, in toto, earning their certificate and full-time employment on 24 September 2022. The students were awarded their certificates by the Managing Director - Mr S K Abdulla who extended his hearty wishes and conveyed the offer to absorb the graduates to the VPS Lakeshore fraternity. The graduation was held along with the presence of the Chief Operating Officer - Mr Subash Scaria, Company Secretary - Mr Muraleedharan R Pai, Chief Financial Officer - Mr R Narayanan, HR Manager - Mr Pradeep M, Dr Jacob Varghese - HoD & Director, Department of Orthopaedics and Joint Replacement and Dr Arjun Vijay - Consultant, Accident & Emergency.

The two-year certification program prepares the students for all kinds of medical emergencies. However, this batch of students had the upper hand owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. Apart from dealing with emergencies in the casualty, they were also staffed and trained to attend to patients at various COVID-19 critical units. In addition to this, to help them learn to cope with emergencies amongst the general public, they were also dispersed to various locations as part of their training including the recent INC Member Rahul Gandhi's visit to Cochin, Kerala as part of his Bharat Jodo Yatra movement.

The graduates spoke on the occasion stating how they were able to utilize the two-year long programme to its maximum and how it has shouldered upon them, confidence and responsibility to serve as an EMT.
